fSeries and Artificial Intelligence (fAI)

fSeries uses Artificial Intelligence in two ways:

1. To allow interactive chats with an AI provider to gain insights into your data
2. To create SQL queries to gather data

The ability to chat with AI about your data is very powerful but you may have some concerns:

Do I have to expose all my data, even if private?

No, you can choose the data you provide to AI, making it possible to screen out private information (such as names) while still sending important details (such as postcodes)

Is my data sent externally for processing?

That’s up to you; you can use one of a number of external AI providers, or one of two methods of analysing your data on your own server.

Am I restricted to expensive AI providers?

No, the two methods of using your own server need not have any additional cost (depending on the models you use); however the response is generally slower.

Can I monitor what users are asking?

Yes, an option lets you record a log of every question asked and who asked it.

There are several ways of using AI within fSeries:

As a single question asked as part of a Data Set Definition. Typically this would be used to add insights to an fDocs document as it is static and does not allow an interactive chat.
In a panel in an fPanels dashboard. This allows for an interactive discussion with AI referencing the data in the dashboard.
Using the interactive AI Chat option that can be called from a menu, or directly via a URL.

fData also includes a facility to generate SQL queries using AI.
