A dashboard layout consists of boxes laid out in a grid. Each panel may be placed in a box. More than one panel may be placed in each box (use the "Panels To Front" command to change the currently displayed panel in a box).
This page lets you design your dashboard's layout by dragging and dropping the boxes and resizing using the edge and corner drag handles. Boxes may not overlap.
When displayed, the dashboard will be divided into a grid of squares 1/24th the width of the visible screen. The layout may extend beyond 24 cells wide but boxes beyond the 24th cell will not be visible on initial display (the user must scroll to see them).
By default the grid boxes will be square. However if you check the Fit Vertically option the height of each grid square will be the visible height of the screen divided by the maximum number of grid squares occupied vertically, subject to moderation if there are too many grid squares vertically.
The layout shows each box in its position. The main area shows approximately how your screen will be filled. The outer area with orange lines shows the area which will be hidden on initial display. Each box lists the panels that are shown in the box. If a box has multiple panels, the one shown at the top will be shown initially. Click on a box to see its details to the right in the box editor.
On opening the Layout page, a list of available boxes is displayed to the right. Click on a box either in the list or in the main layout area to open the box editor.
You can edit the box's name.
The Panels In Box list shows the panels that are shown in the box, with the one at the top being the one to be displayed initially. Drag and drop panels to re-sequence.
Drag and drop panels between the Panels In Box list and the Panels Available list to alter the contents of the box.
Removing the box will return all of its panels to the list of available panels (the panels will not be removed from the dashboard).
A new box may be added either in the Layout page by clicking on the “Add a new box…” button, or when adding a new panel you can specify a new box to be added.
The panel will be added to the right of all existing panels, at the top of the layout. If created from a panel, the size of the panel will be appropriate to the type of panel being created.
