Panel Grouping

Grouping of panel data lets you create a new set of data from within a panel's own data by grouping all data by records with common values in a specific field and including calculated values (e.g. min, max, average) from any of its numerical values. Grouping is primarily intended to aggregate data from a data group for use in charts. Not all panel types permit Grouping as it is inappropriate (e.g. maps).

Select the field to be grouped by. In the example above the data is being grouped by the person's gender. You can also order the grouped data by this field or any that you select below, with the option to have it in descending order.

Drag the values you require into the Values Included. These values include the total count of records in the groups, plus minimum, maximum, average (mean), median and sum or all numeric fields in the panel's data.

Click on the edit icon for each to change its label and also set the number of decimal places to be used in its format.

Note that when you add Grouping, the Data page changes to show only the group field and included values from this page.
