Gauge Panel

Typically a gauge panel will be for a single value, but if the data has multiple records and gauge will be displayed for each.

There are two styles of gauge; choose between:

  • solid - where a solid colour block indicates the value
  • dial - where an arrow marks the value on a range of values

The following settings are available.

Text

Select the field to be used a the label/description for the gauge. If not selected the first available text field will be used.

Value

Select the field that represents the value to be set in the gauge. If not selected the first available numeric field will be used.

Minimum / Maximum

Enter a value (or use placeholders) to set the minimum and maximum values of the gauge's scale.

Stop Ranges

Stop Ranges apply a colour to ranges of values on the gauge. For a solid gauge this is the colour of the solid block based on the value; for dial gauges this is the colour bands around the scale. Stops may be expressed by actual value (default) or by percentage based on minimum/maximum value.

A range consists of a colour and a stop value (the start value of the range).

Dial gauges require and extra colour after all stops. This is the colour for the last section of the scale.

Select a colour by clicking the box, and enter a value as either the actual value or the percentage if “Stops By Percentage” was checked.

Animation

Optionally, the gauge display may be animated. This is useful to draw attention to the panel, especially if it changes due to filters being applied from other panels.
