Each entity has a similar properties page, with slight changes dependent on the entity type. The example below is for an fPanels dashboard.
The Alias of an entity must be unique across your account for the same type of entity. It's only a required field if the app setting “AliasRequired” is set to true. It may be used to reference the entity in links and is particularly useful when exporting/importing entities between systems and accounts as it is used to match entities being transferred.
Select Heading and Select Notes are displayed in the Select page when the user is asked for selection criteria. This makes it possible to tailor the Select page to the entity being selected and the criteria being requested.
For fDocs and fSheets templates there are two further entries:
The Output Filename specifies how you want the generated file to be named (excluding the extension which will be applied automatically). Click into the entry for a list of available placeholders:
You may include any number of these placeholder as well as plain text to construct a file name.
A checkbox is also available to mark the template as a Master. This will make it available when starting a new fDocs or fSheets template as a starting document on which to base the new template.
For fDocs templates you can designate an fSheets template to be used when the user selects the Xlsx format to output the document. Only templates with matching DSD may be designated.
Index Labels and Access Roles may also be applied to the entity.
From the properties page you can click to “Save” the properties or “Save & Design” to go straight to the designer.
