Dashboard New Data

The data required for an fPanels dashboard is organised in “DSD Sets”. One and only one DSD Set is the “Primary DSD” which has a special purpose as it is the data gathered when the dashboard is first displayed. All other DSD sets are gathered only when requested to do so by the user making some form of selection, such as clicking on a row in a table.

To add new data to a dashboard, simply use the DSD Picker to select the DSD you require. When you click “Add DSD Set”, the DSD set will be added.

If you are adding the first DSD set (assumed to be the Primary DSD), before continuing you will be given the opportunity to create initial panels based on the data groups in the DSD.

This option may be skipped, or select the type of panel you'd like to create for each data group. Notice that child data groups are shown but may only be selected if their parent has been selected.

For each data group choose whether to exclude it, include as a Table panel or include as a Details panel. Details panels show just a single record from the data group and so are only appropriate where a single record is expected.

Only these options are available as they are the basic panel display types. However, they may be changed to other types later, such as charts, maps and list views.

Each selected data group has a corresponding panel created and all are placed into an initial default layout with top level data groups located along the top of the layout and their children below each.

Click on Continue to make the default panels.
