Panel Data

Data Group

On the right side of the page, click in the appropriate box to select the DSD set and data group from which the panel's data is taken. You can also select No Data if not required or you wish to return to this later.

Fields

This page lets you select the fields that you want available in the panel. That does not necessarily mean the fields to be shown as some panel types require specific fields to be selected. However, for panel types such as Tables, this page dictates which fields are show and in what sequence.

Drag and drop fields between the Fields Included and Fields Excluded boxes to indicate which are required and what sequence.

Field Edit

Click on a field in the Fields Included box to edit its details.

Here you can change the field's label and specify if it is an image and if so then what type of image field it is.

Images can be displayed either using a Base 64 encoded text value, or by linking to a URL that returns the image file

Search Field

Select a field to act as the field to use when the user enters a value in the panel's text search entry. All records in the panel whose text field contains the user's search text will be included in the filtered display.

As there is only one search field, sometimes it is worth considering a field in the data group that concatenates a series of fields (e.g. name and address) to use as the search field for a more comprehensive search.

Base Field

Designate a field that will be used as the field containing the unique base value for a panel. For example, if a map shows local authorities across the country you may set your authority as the base so that you can compare others with it. This field is the one that contains the authority's unique ids.
