Gradings let you apply a colour gradient to records in panels based on the value of a field. This is not available for any of the chart display types.
The colour applied to each row is calculated based on the spread of a numerical value across all records in the panel's data.
If multiple gradings are specified, the user will be able to change between gradings when viewing the dashboard by selecting from a drop-down menu in the panel header.
The order in which the gradings are offered to the user is determined by the order here. Drag and drop as required. The first grading in the list is displayed by default.
Click on a grading to edit it. Click on New Grading to enter the new grading's name and select the field top which it applies.
The Gradient entry lets you choose the gradient pattern from the set on the right. If you choose the last option, Solid Colour from Theme, you will be able to use the Colour Picker to choose a colour whose range of shades will be used.
Lower and Upper entries are optional numerical values that limit the extent of the grading. For example, you may only be interested in grading from £100 to £1000 but values range from 0 to £1500. Set Lower to 100 and Upper to 100 so that values below 100 are all the same as each other, and those above 1000 are all the same as each other.
The Reverse option, if checked, sets higher values to the left end of the grading colour range and the lower values to the right end, reversing the grading.
