Menu Designer

The Menu Designer has two sections: Members and Settings. Other options are also available from the banner at the top of the page.

This page shows the structure and content of the menu and lets you edit all aspects of the menu. All parameters that affect the menu's appearance and behaviour are managed here. Use the drag/drop list to the left of the page to position members in the menu's structure.

Manage the optional "Subject" DSD whose data may be used in the menu's title and sub title. You can also select the colour to be used for the menu and whether a permission check should be done before displaying the menu.

Test

Opens a separate browser tab and displays the menu . You may be asked for selection criteria, if the Subject DSD has been specified. You can choose to test the menu as one of the following:

For top and side menus a dummy page is displayed with the menu applied.

You can also test the data which will be gather in the Subject DSD from this option.

Testing is only available when the design has been saved and no further changes have been made.

Save

Changes made in the designer are saved in your browser's memory automatically but must be saved to the server to be effective. The Save button changes from green to amber and to red over time since the last save, or as more changes are made without saving.

Click the down arrow to the right of the button for more save options:

When you Publish or Backup you will be asked to enter Version Notes. These can be seen in the Design History if you decide to Rollback the design.
