New User

Adding new users varies according to your system's authentication method.

Auth0

To register a new user enter their email address (to identify them) and a unique User Id (if not unique, a unique id will be created by adding a suffix).

If the email address is found but not currently a user in this account, the user will be added to this account and will not require authorization. If not, the user will be pre-registered to this account (an invitation will be emailed), allowing the user to log in.

User Registration

From the fAdmin home page, the User Registration option shows a list of users who have been pre-registered (using the above process) but have not yet logged in. Click on a user for options to re-send their invitation or withdraw their registration.

User Authorization

If your system is set up to permit user self authorization, the fAdmin home page's User Authorization option lists users who have registered for your account from the Auth0 sign up option. Click on a user to see their details and then choose to Authorize or Deny.

If you Authorize the user they will receive an email inviting them to log in.

If you Deny, the user will be blocked from requesting authorization again (to prevent malicious repeat requests).

Account Emails

The content of emails sent for registration and authorization may be edited from the fAdmin home page's Account Emails option.

Forms

Enter the user's User Id and (optionally) Active Directory Login. If your system permits personal data to be held then you may also enter the user's email address, name and telephone number.

The user will be checked to ensure their User Id does not already exist in your account. If not they will be added. Note that if the user already exists but is not yet in your account they will be added to your account but the other entries will be ignored.

The user will be given just the 'User' role and if a default group has been set up for your account the user will be made a member of that group. This is a useful security measure to ensure that new users are not accidentally provided with access to more than they should be. Once the user has been added you may set up their correct roles, groups, teams and access roles (see Users).
