This is where all of the administration for the system is done. Click on “More Detail” to expand the buttons for each section to show more information. Note that the contents of the fAdmin home page will vary according to the options available to your system.
A sub menu page is provided for Account and Users administration
Edit your account's name and the URL to link to your system. Depending on your authentication method and whether you have set up any security DSDs you will also be able to nominate which DSDs are used in various situations as well as other related settings. Please follow the instructions in the page. This page also shows the fSeries modules available to your account.
There are many settings they may be applied to your account. Follow the instructions on the page to complete the entries. See also, Custom Settings, which permit the addition of your own settings.
Note that these setting change the behaviour of the system and should be changed only after due consideration. Settings are saved encrypted in the database.
Access to data such as databases or APIs requires a source to be set up here. These may then be referenced in DSD data groups. Follow the instructions for each source type to set up the required sources. Sources are saved encrypted in the database.
fSeries has a complete theme pre-set but if you wish to vary it for your own design requirements, use the Theme page.
There are many aspects of the generated outputs that can be managed with the theme, including:
Gatherers are the software plugins that gather and manipulate data gathered in DSD data groups. This list shows all of the gatherers available (including any custom gatherers). You can exclude any for which you have no use; they will then be excluded from the fData designer.
Processor are the software plugins that take actions in Processes. This list shows all of the processors available (including any custom processors). You can exclude any for which you have no use; they will then be excluded from the Process designer.
fSeries has a number of pre-set settings that apply to all accounts. This option lets you add custom settings for your account which may then be referenced in the Setting function.
Search for a user by id, name (with wildcards) and/or email address to view and edit their details. Click the option add a new user. Click here for more details.
fSeries logs user activity such as accessing entities and logging in. This option lets you view an analysis of the use logs for your system.
Usage analysis is only available to users with the fAdmin user role and if you have set the “General Usage Analysis Link” fAdmin Setting.
Users may be organised in groups. Permissions for access to entities may be granted to groups (and those not in any group). A group may be further organised into teams. One group may be designated as the default group which to which new users are added automatically. This is important to ensure that new users have limited access until they are allocated to their correct group. The default group should therefore contain limited permissions.
Users may be a member of one or more teams, but only teams associated with the user's group (or no group if the user is not a member of a group). Permissions for access to entities may be granted to teams.
If you need to limit access to entities (fDocs/fSheets templates, fPanels dashboards, menus) to specific sections of your user community Permission Sets allow you to create sets of entities and then grant access to them to users, groups and teams.
Users are allocated access roles. Access roles may then be applied to entities and to DSD data group Access Control. The combination is checked to ensure that the user has access to the entity or data.
This option lets you create access roles.
For certain authentication methods and setups this option provides an opportunity to view and edit the emails sent to users when invited to register or when they have requested authorisation or to reset their password. A general template is also available which is used when Notifications are sent.
A simple test to check emails are being sent. Enter the recipient's email address and click to send.
Create a link to your Start page, with navigation options.
Download and/or clear records from the Use Log, Change Log and Audit Log.
Upload entity import files that have been exported from other fSeries systems and then process them into your own account.
Export packages are used to maintain a link between sets of export that you create and the entities imported in receiving systems. This option is only available if your account has a Unique Id (set by fSeries Support).
This option will export all entities in your account. This may take some time and create a large file.
