The fMaps section of fSeries deals with settings and details that are specific to the map features of fPanels.
fMaps features are only available in fSeries if you have added an fMaps Azure Maps Key in fAdmin Settings
Select a Features File to define the minimum bounds of map panels (or leave blank for no minimum). This ensures that maps are not displayed too zoomed when there are few points or areas. This may be overridden for individual map panels.
The settings also let you set a default centre point for map displays. This is overridden in many cases where map points and areas are displayed but will be used when an empty map is shown in order to locate it to your area. Use the search option to find a place on the map. Click on the map at the point you wish to use.
In addition, you can specify a search radius to constrain location searches to your area. Check the option and move the slider to set the radius (which is shown on the map)
Click save to retain your settings.
Features Files (sometimes referred to as GeoJsons) contain a set of location points or areas on a map which may be included in a dashboard map either as overlays (selectable areas), features (reference points/areas) or as data.
The Features File Editor lets you draw and edit the map features as well as adding data values (properties) for each feature on the map.
If you have set the fAdmin Settings Azure Maps Auto Locate option, when a dashboard map requires points but a point does not have a precise latitude/longitude position, fData will use the fMaps Geolocating facility based on the point's location field. The first time an address is required it is “geolocated” using the Azure Maps facility.
The Geocoding Editor lets you inspect the locations discovered, adjust them and manage their status.
