When the map is first displayed the area included will include all of the areas/points in the data. As filters are applied to the panel the area shown changes to include only the selected items.
The Map Bounds settings changes this behaviour, specifying how the bounds of the map are determined.
Note that the user can zoom the map in/out as they wish and can lock the map using the lock icon in the panel's header to fix the bounds as currently set (to prevent these rules being applied). The map icon in the panel's header resets the bounds to those set by these rules.
Select a Bounding Features File to limit the bounds to no less than the contents of the features file. If a default Map Setting has been selected then you can leave it to this default. You can also specify that regardless of the default, do not set minimum bounds in this way.
By default the bounds will include only those points/areas that are visible (selected). Change to “All” to leave the bounds to cover all items whether selected or not.
If you have overlays applied to your map you can choose to have the bounds include:
If the map has Features Files applied, check the option include all of the border and landmarks in all of the Features Files in the map.
