Each entity has a similar details page, with slight changes dependent on the entity type. The example below is for an fPanels dashboard.

The Status shows a flag icon indicating whether the the entity is live (green), live but also has in progress (amber) or not yet live (red).

The Lock shows whether the entity is currently locked for designing and by whom. Click the Release button to release the entity (after confirmation); this may prevent unsaved changes made by the current designer from being saved.

From the details display page there are several options available (depending on entity type and status)

If the entity was imported as part of a package from another system / account, the current import status will show:

• The unique id of the account from which it was exported
• The Package id
• The Version of the package
• The entity Id of the entity on the exporting system

A warning will be displayed showing either that the entity has not been changed since importing and so changing the design will invalidate the import, or that the entity has been changed and so the connection with the exporting system has been broken.

Open the appropriate designer for the entity. This will be disabled if the entity is locked.

In fSheets you can upload your design on this page. You will be asked if you want to publish the designer and whether to release the design (indicating that you have finished designing). You can also record notes which will be recorded in the design history.

The dropdown menu provides several additional options. Some will be disabled based on the current status of the entity. Some will not be present if inappropriate for the entity type.

Click to preview the Live or current In Progress version of the entity. You will be asked to provide selection criteria and the output will be opened in another browser tab (or downloaded for documents)

Enter selection criteria and view the data in fTest. Not available for fData (use the previews); for fPanels this is the primary DSD's data.

Opens a page where you can create a link for the entity (not available for fData as it is not appropriate to link directly to a DSD).

This may then be used in other applications to link directly to the entity's output.

After confirmation, the entity's In Progress design will be removed, reverting the design to the Live version.

After confirmation, the entity's live version will be deleted, making it unavailable to users. If there is no current In Progress version, the current Live version will become the In Progress version. Current usage is NOT checked.

Make a direct copy of the entity, providing a new name and alias.

Create an export file which may be imported into another account or system. See here for more information on exporting.

For published DSDs you can use this option to obtain a simple Xml file with the data gathered. You may be asked for selection criteria before the file is downloaded.

Shows a list of all the places in your fSeries where the entity is referenced. This can be as a DSD in a dashboard, or an option in a menu, or a dashboard command link.

Click on any item in the list to go to that entity's page.

Downloads a comprehensive pack of information that may be sent to support for analysis.

Note that the pack may contain sensitive information so check before sending.
